he asked me to describe urself.  I answered

      no more questions were there except he asked me bout their bonds n placing me anywhere      in   India or abroad m I comforatable wid that or not.  I answered I m comforatable.

    then he asked any question from ur side???  I asked how can I improve myself still, after   being placed, since I have still much time to spend at the college b4 joining.    He answered.

And in this fashion my interview was over. The result was announced that night only around 9:30 pm . And my name was called out in the list of successful candidates. I was at the ninth cloud at that time……  Hope u all feel this……..that  how it really feels like ,to  b at ninth cloud .

SOME HR  ROUND CONVERSATIONS

EXAMPLE 1:

Me: gud evening  sir.

Interviewer: So u r olivia.

Me : Yes sir. (with a smile)

Interviewer: Tell me somethin about urself.

Me answered.

Interviewer : write a program to reverse a string using pointers in c.

Me: done.

Interviewer: what is a getch() used for?

Me: amswered

Interviewer: what r the different ways of cpu scheduling?

Me: answered

Interviewer: u seem to hav been scjp certified at a vry young age,how did u get it? (going through my certificates)

Me: yes sir,(told the process of certification)

Intervierwer:  wat r ur weak points?

Me :answered

Interviewer: wat r ur strenghths?

Me: answered.

Interviewer wat do u mean by a project?

Me: answered. (gave me a smile 4 my answer)

Interviewer: wat r the qualities of a leader?

Me: answered

Interviewer: wat are the diff betn oop and pop?

Me: answered

Interviewer: Why do u want to get into tcs?

Me: answered.

Interviewer: thank u olivia.

Me: thank u ,sir.

They were very frendly and there is absolutely no reason to be tensed there.One should be confident enough and he or she will surely be qualified.

EXAMPLE 2:

i sat down and he asked, "tell me sumthing that is not written in u CV. what u are as a person"

i strtd off, "i m a reserved kind of a person. i dont open up my heart to everone bt wen i choose my friends, i stay loyal to them forever." .

my strength is.................

my weakness is that i cant boss around over 10 people. i can lead them and can encourage them to work but i cant boss over them.

he said, "but we need people who can boss around over people"

i said, "sir icant boss around over them bt i can lead them. i can work with them and can encourage them to work. i cant be rude to them"

he asked, "y u cant b rude to them??"

i said, "it's not in my genes."

then he asked me abt the family background.

then came upto my hobbies.

he said, "listening to music. everybody listens to it and it's not a hobby these days,"

i said, "it soothes me, it relaxes me and that's y i listen to it."

he asked," who's ur fav. singer.'

i said, "sonu nigam in indian and aaron lewis from staind in western music."

he asked, "staind. never heard of it"

i said, "sir, it's a rock band"

he aske,d" so wat music do u generally listen to.

i said, "generally rock"

he said, "who's ur fav. band???"

i said, "staind"

he said, "staind???? never heard of it.... mostly people go for nirvana, metallica"

i said, "sir, metallica is too thrash for my ears. and nirvana is like evergreen.

he asked, "lawn tennis. who's ur fav. player???"

i said, "roger federer"

"y"

i siad, "he's the no. 1 player. great forehand, great backhand"

"on wat court does he play"

"on all surfaces."

"but he loses on clay court"

"yes sir. on clay court he loses to Rafael Nadal and that's y he's never won French Open" (this answer showed that i watch tennis. obviously)

then he asked me "y do u want to go into IT, wen ur branch is ECE"

i said, "coz i m interested in programming"

"then y did u chose ECE"

"versatality is the key. i kno ECE. and i kno prog. too. and i've won a few programming competitions too"

he asked, "where did u get to learn the languages??"

i said, "c++ in 11-12. c in 1st yr. c++, java in 2nd yr."

then he asked me abt my competitions and i told him everything.

"y TCS"

told him some crap.

"do u have any relative in IT sector?"

"yes. one cousin in Infy and another in CGI, Bangalore"

"did they advise u to join some company"

i said," no. how can they ask me to join their company. they just told me to join some  nice company"

"i am not convinced with ur answer???? y TCS???"

"no. 12 company. Ratan Tata"

"ratan tata has got nothin to do with TCS"

"yes. bt still...... TCS is TCS"

"y do u want to go 4 no. 12 company. y not top 10"

now they wanted to hear, "by 2010, TCS will be in top 10"

my answer, "every journey begins with a single step.... and somethin crap"

THIS WAS THE MOST NEGATIVE ANSWER THAT I CUD GIVE.

still he took it +vely.

"do u want to ask sumthing"

"wen will the results be out?"

"tomorrow"

"ok"

For the last question don't  spellbound.show your interest about the company.

Like the question may be ;what are the projects will be assigned at the  training period.and observe the way they answer your question.it will help you to guess whether they select you or not. That’s  all about the hr round… so..i do hope that this all questions will help you to crack t.c.s.

EXAMPLE 3:

My Technical & HR was combined, there was only 1 member in my panel..total 12 panel came in our college....

Then i was called...............

I opened the door and took permission to come in..............

HR>Please sit down & asked 4 a  cup of tea...

me> i wished good morning and said thanks

me>I told

HR>asked abt my parents & fathers profession

me>replied

HR>asked what is called foody in bengali & what types of food i like(as i told i m foody in abouy myself)

me>replied

HR>asked why my 12 th exam score was low & if it will happen in future again.

me>replied

HR>asked abt mt project (it was in RMI)

me>answered what did we did

HR>asked aout broadband connection

me>i said i dont know abt this....bcoz i have no net connection....

HR>diff b2n gateway and router

me>answered that gateway works in all layers and routerworks on lower 3 layers

HR>asked how conn is created b2n a pc and net

me>i fumbbled the answer and said i have not prepared n/w 4 today

HR>then asked my hobbies,,why i dont play football,,,,fav team,,current & previous manage....

At last they told me Thank You  Arup 4 giving ur valuable times 4 tcs

I also told nice t meet u and thank u sir

My interview was  around 12-15 mins.

So this was my personal experience, and at 9.30 pm the selected candidates name was declared and my name was there...... I was really very Happy then…………

EXAMPLE 4: 

Key to clear this round is to be confident , to be calm & positive mindset. M –Good Afternoon sir

I:- Good Afternoon nevil

I- so hows your day till now.

M-Sir,Its pretty fine till now and if you will select me than it will be fantastic  day for me.

I- lets check out your caliber.

Tell me about yourself

I-Tell me about yourself.

M- I have told about me.

I also told that my role model is Rahul Dravid then he asked me about his birthday. I said Confidently that it is 11th july,1973.

He tried to cross check me by saying that u have said wrong date. Than he searched on google also and said me that u r really knowing about him.

Just stick to your answer, he will try to cross check you that u r confident or not.

I- tell me your favorite Subjects

M- Object oriented programming using java

I- tell me another core subject

M- DBMS

I- R u sure na??I will ask you from this subjects only and if you will not able to answer me than you will be out.

M - ok sir.

I- tell me 5 database software’s

M-   Microsoft sql server, MY sql, Sybase, Oracle, Ms Access

I- very good. Tell me about the main 3 statements of sql

M- Sir its DDL,DML,DCL. also i explained the functionalities of each.

I- Difference between function and procedure

M -  Sir Function returns 1 value and procedure can return more than 1 values.

I- he asks about outer join query and different ways to implement outer join

M- i have explained it correctly.

I- tell me about Self join

M- I dont know sir.

I- ok .

If you are not knowing any answer than you can say i dont know.But Dont Lie.

I- tell me about triggers

M- I said i am knowing only concept(Not implementation)

I-Ok explain us

M-Explained him.

I- You are knowing everything about DBMS.lets switch to JAVA.

I- tell me the specific topic from which only i will ask you the question.(He gave me such a liberty)

M- Sir Exception Handling

I- Ok tell me superclass of that. this point i  got nervousness because I am not knowing this.

I- 2 methods to implement it

M-  try/catch & using throws keyword.

I- Ok tell me about finally

M- Explained him completly

I- U have any questions to ask me

M- Sir s/w development is not tangible process cant track progress of it.So how are you just providing certainity to the customers??

he explained it nicely.

M- any other suggestions for my improvementI- U are going nicely. Keep it up.

My technical interview went very good that’s why they skipped my hr round.I had directly sent to the MR round.

EXAMPLE 5:

                              TCS took a total of 449 out of 487 who cleared the aptitude test...guess what i made it.....here are the interview questions they askd....ya,before i start i m frm EEE branch....now:

1> Tell something about yourself

*my career objective included a word "innovation" n that's why they jumped to it

2> would u like to innovate something in future?

*i said-sure if i m given a chance....they said u never get a chance u got to grab it....i said-ya,i understand

3> Suggest some innovation?

*i suggested some crap n they didn't ask more

4> why did u drop for 2 yrs with details of every year?

*i said i was preparing for IIT-JEE n that's what we always tell even if we were chasing a girl n doing bullshit...

5> what is difference between digital electronics and analog electronics?

6>  what is electric circuit theory?

7> do u know any programming language?

*i said c & c++

8> what is difference bet c & c++?

9> is c a structured language n what is structured programming?

10>what is OOPs?

11>tell some specialty of your hometown n suggest one demerit of people there....

12> then they switched to whether i m comfortable if they relocate me somewhere far?

13> u r an Electrical engineer n u r opting for TCS? why?

14> do u know anything about TCS?

*Rem frnds u need to hear PPT(pre placement talk) nicely. They will be explaining everything which they might ask later...

eg.TCS was found in 1968...its present CEO is...chairman & vice chairman etc etc.....at least be awake during that...i hope u had enough sleep during the classes....

15>would u like if u r given to work in ur area of interest....

*obviously everybody says yes....

16> what would u choose in-between an awesome project in USA not related anywhere to your interest n if u r given a project in India related to ur interest

 That was all...then he asked if i had any questions? which I didn't had...then he said that was all...etc etc...

Believe me frnds it was a cakewalk.....

so don't worry.....jus face it boldly...remember fortune favors the brave....

EXAMPLE 6:

Now regarding mah interview....It was a (technical+HR) round...My turn came at 8:30PM

I: Come in .

Me: Good Evning panel members(there were 2 of them)

Me: May i have a seat please?

I: Yes,please!

I: So, Priyansh! where r u from?

Me: Answered..

I: O! dat's a lovely place ,isn't it?

Me: Indeed,it is.

I: Describe urself.

Me: Answered

I: Which portion u r more prepared with..

Me: Comm. and Microprocessor(8085)and C

I: Asked all sorts of applied parts of Analog Electronics(AM,FM,Shannon  Hartley,application based 10 questions)

Me: Answered about 60% satisfactorily,say whatever u feel to say..confidently..they watch u every moment..

I: What is ur +ve point?

Me: Answered.

I: Asked some C questions...I answered

(He showed as if i was a duffer and knew nothing..but don't go by dat..that's also a test)

Hr: Describe a situation where u faced a challange in ur life?

Me: Answered.

Hr: Are u a team player?what about working in isolation ?

Me: Answered in the best possible way.

Hr: U r given a job which u won't be able to do alone but then u hav to do it all by urself;what will be your approach?

Me: Answered

Hr: Are u mobile?

Me: Yes.

ok! thank u ..u may leave..I said thanks! and then left off!

Few days after out results came and 130 emerged victorious...amongst them I was also there.

EXAMPLE 7:

(they've got HR mixed with it)

they asked me, "ok. tell us abt urself. ur strengths and weaknesses. i strtd off tellin abt the basics and then my strengths and weaknesses,

told them.be prepared with ur strengths and weaknesses. and u shud have suficient proof for them too. then one guy strtd lukin at my resume and was abt to ask me abt the competitions bt he got a call on his cell and he went out. bad luck. the other guy asked me basics abt optical fibre .

i  told him. then asked me to solve a k-map.

i made a mistake in the beginning and he pointed it out.

i said, "yes sir." with a smile and corrected it.

then while i ws solving it, he asked, "atak gaye kya??"

i said, "no sir. just one min."

finally i solved it and it was right.

then they asked me abt macros and inline fn. in c++.

told them.

then they asked me, "pointers aate hain kya??"

i said, "yes sir."

he asked me, "smat pointer, auto pointer and dangling pointers kya hote hain??"

i said, "i dunno" with a confused smile.

he asked, "kabhi sune bhi nahin??"

i said, "no sir"

then the lights went off.

he siad, "kya colg bandh hone ka time ho gaya kya??"

i said, "kya pata sir??" with a sweet smile.

then one guy again went out and the other one asked me abt call by value and reference.

i told him that there are 3 types, "call by value addres and reference and they all are different.call by reference and address."

he dint allow me to explain them and said 'ok"

the other person asked him, "kuch puchna hai kya??"

he said, "no"

so i cameout.

so it lasted just for 10 mins.

then we were called for the MR interview. there they asked abt the bond location and medical test. u shud not have any problem with any of these. 

then was the HR interview.

"

this was it. 

they had selected 97 students out of 280 in aptitude. then out of 97, 55 were called for the HR interview. then finally they selected 50 student
